 Fourth of July fireworks in Pittsburgh is one of the summertime activities canceled due to the covid-19 outbreak. The fireworks display was scheduled among other group events that were canceled because the occasion couldn't safely comply with guidelines.

The event attracts thousands of people at multiple points across the city, from Downtown to the North Shore to Mt. Washington to the West End Overlook. "Pittsburgh residents have done an excellent job during these stressful times, remaining safe and looking out for each other.

The information indicates the struggle against this outbreak is far from over, however, and we have to maintain social distancing and other measures to win this struggle, even when we are enjoying the outdoors. Concerts, races such as summertime dance, summer camps, summer youth baseball, and the Great Race and Pistons were included in the activities list.

Allegheny County moved from the red phase to the yellow of the state's tiered reopening plan Friday. Some restrictions put in place to decrease the spread of the coronavirus were lifted or eased.

Group parties of more than 25 people are still banned in the yellow phase.

County and city parks have stayed open during the red phase, but some activities were restricted. Spray parks and city playgrounds, park shelters will remain closed.

Swimming pools, such as the Oliver Bath House, will be closed.

Quite a few activities that comply with social distancing guidelines will be permitted, city officials announced Friday.

List of Activities Allowed By City Officials:

• Drive-in films, organized by town Special Events office starting June 13
• Farmers markets, beginning June 3 in Carrick.
• Road closures in town parks
• Fields, as long as they are not used for organized group sports.
• Frisbee golf and lawn bowling
• Tennis, pickleball, bocce and skate parks
• Expanded summer food program, which is likely to start June 15

Celebrate America in Point State Park (canceled in 2020)

Point State Park hosts the most significant free 4th of July party in the Pittsburgh region. Starting from noon, thousands gather to the park to enjoy live music, performances, and food. Historical reenactments, food concessions, educational activities, competitions, family-friendly games, as well as several stages of entertainment are the main charms of this celebration.

If it is your first Fourth of July in Pittsburgh, then have a photo on the background of this 150-ft fountain, the central landmark of Point State Park. Every July, Kennywood Amusement Park provides a range of exciting activities to celebrate Independence Day. With six roller coasters and its dozens of rides, lots of adrenaline is ensured. The program features magic acts, music, and fun contests like a hot dog eating competition. Another highlight is the Wiener 100 dachshund annual race. Canonsburg (canceled in 2020)
